Why Multi-Band Technology?

Many emergency services utilize both VHF for regional coverage and UHF for urban coverage.
Previously they would have installed two radios (thus two antennas), however today’s radio manufacturers now provide VHF and UHF capabilities in one radio.

A single radio also allows emergency services a way to exchange critical voice and data communications seamlessly with multiple agencies and jurisdictions operating on different radio bands.
